Youth in Emergency Services (YES!)

Exciting new Red Cross program for Youth! Youth in Emergency Services (YES!) is the first of its kind and we want you to be a part of it!

The YES! Program trains Red Cross high school students to be Disaster Volunteers and assist during a community disaster.

Our first ever YES! Disaster Training will be held on Saturday, February 26th from 11am – 4pm at the Santa Barbara office. Another YES! Disaster Training will be offered at the Santa Maria office  in September; date and time will be announced later. There are only 21 spots available in the February training, so if you are interested, sign up now! Here’s how to get involved:

1. Get, complete and turn in a Youth Volunteer Recommendation Form at the Santa Maria or Santa Barbara Red Cross office.

2. Attend a New Volunteer Orientation. (Club members should have received a Red Cross Orientation.)

3. Complete a Youth Volunteer Application. (Club members should have completed the Application.)

4. Attend the YES Disaster Training.

If you have any questions or are interested in getting involved, contact Lauren at or (805) 687 – 1331 x 119.

We are looking for Club Red Delegates!

2011 Delegate Application: Print, complete, and turn it in Today!

If you are creative and motivated; if you want to make a difference in your world; if you want to learn to lead, we want you to be a Club Red Delegate. This is your opportunity to define yourself, make new friends, have fun and become an outstanding leader!

This year, Club Red will be held Saturday, March 19th at Santa Ynez Valley Union High School. The cost of the retreat is $20, which will covert-shirts, activities, meals, and supplies. The retreat is open to all Red Cross high school club members and Red Cross youth volunteers who are currently in high school. We are also looking for delegates to lead activities during the retreat.

Please contact Club Red coordinator, Laura Jagla, at (805) 361 – 1211 or for any questions. Laura will visit the high school clubs in January to distribute applications.
